Beal DYNEEMA 5MM Cord
The Beal Dyneema 5mm cord is an ultra-lightweight high-performance cordelette made from 100% Dyneema fibers, delivering exceptional strength with minimal weight. It is specifically designed for caving (speleology), mountaineering, big wall climbing, and technical rope applications.
Thanks to Dyneema construction, this cord offers superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to traditional nylon cords, making it an essential piece of gear for professionals who need to reduce pack weight without compromising performance.
Ideal uses include:
- Creating foot loops (pedals)
- Building secondary anchors
- Various technical and lightweight rigging applications
⚠️ Important note: Dyneema has a relatively low melting point (~145°C), so this cord is NOT suitable for friction hitches (e.g., Prusik knots) and should be used with caution in high-friction scenarios.
